Hi there! If you have come this far you might wonder who I am and why I am a pitching instructor.

In Short: My name is Ashley Small (Saussaman), a retired softball player and pitcher. I am passionate about helping others succeed and be their best on and off the mound.

The Detail: I grew up around the softball field and as soon as I could play, I was on it. I was a dedicated student of the game as well as determined and passionate player.

I was the Varsity Pitcher for East Pennsboro HS for 4 years and played for the PA AlleyCat Class A Organization where we played teams from all over the country and Canada. In 2004 we placed 2nd in the NSA Super World Series in Peoria, Illinois. I then went on to play at West Chester University where I had experience playing against some of the best players in the PSAC and learned what it took to be successful at the collegiate level.

Post graduation, I began my career as a Health and Physical Education teacher at East Pennsboro MS. During that time I began coaching for EP's Varsity program and providing one-on-one instruction to local pitchers.

Since then I have resigned from teaching and have stepped away from team coaching which allows me more time to work with more pitchers in the area. Over the past year I have seen a huge need to provide quality instruction to pitchers of all levels.

I continue to educate myself about the best techniques used in the circle as sport and techniques are constantly evolving. I use video analysis to break down skills as well as many years of experience with skill analysis. Not only is it important for my students to know what to do but why we do it. Having an understanding of "the why" makes it easier to apply the techniques!
